I have the tru stitch, I was in love with the idea of stitch regulator on this machine because I thought that would make it perfect. But I have to say I didn't really take to it. I think had I had it from the beginning It might have been different but I sort of had to relearn it working with the mouse/controller.
You need to use either the table overlay HQ makes or equivalent to get a good result close to the needle and you need to play a bit to see that there is no drop or delay in signal from the base to the mouse. I had mine at the back and underneath but found when I had the controller clipped to the edge of the quilt there was too much delay( could be also my movements weren't enough for it to pick up). I moved the controller to top.
It does what it promises I just think though if you already have a technique or a way of fmq, then using this may not be worth it but if you are a blank slate or perfectionist about stitch size then the effort will be worth it.
Also I think it makes the machine a bit slower overall
