Subject: Husqvarna designer 1 embroidery unit issues...anyone have any ideas? Date: 10/15/13 10:32 PM

So i have a Designer 1, which was a gift from my dad about 11 years ago when it first came out. Never had issues, love my machine...until now. I had to have the hoop sensor on the embroidery unit changed so i could use the 150x150 hoop that was not compatible with my machine. No big deal, right? Well, after about 3 months, my machine stated to go wacky. Designs embroidered wrong, hoops were not recognized. Took it back and the fixed tension case. Still working weird. Took it back again and they changed sensors again. Just got it back yesterday and it is still not working right. I could just cry. I do not know what to do... Any ideas?? I may just try calling the company tomorrow...

My Viking Rose messed up similar to yours when I accidentally plugged in the embroidery unit while the machine was turned on. It burned up the circuit board (or whatever it is called). The machine would still sew a straight line, but the embroidery was all messed up. It was about $600 to replace the circuit board. I debated about buying a new machine, but I love my Rose so I finally had it fixed. All is well, and it is still going strong. Whoever replaced the hoop sensor should be able to check out the machine and figure out what is wrong unless his fix is the problem. Good luck getting it fixed.

Thanks TGWGWS. I have been thinking it could be the board or something because the technician tested embroidery with my embroidery unit on another designer 1 and things were fine. So that is probably the next step. I am taking it back again... Hopefully that is the issue. Would rather a few hundred dollars than a few thousand for a new machine when i do love mine!
