Yes, my darling daughter was here for a quick visit this weekend, and asked me to help her fix some pants, which I did. She said that maybe it would be a good idea if she finally had A SEWING MACHINE.

Be still my heart.

She is not going to take up sewing (although her husband might), but for mending and certain other tasks she has allowed that a sewing machine would be mighty useful.

I am sew happy.

I am going to give her my beloved Janome Magnolia 7330. It is such a nice machine and I hardly use it, and she will give it a good home. It is the perfect machine for her purposes, and it is really fun to sew on. Who knows, some day she may want to do more than mend.

I hear your joy. My dear daughter took up sewing just before turning 30. After all those years of no interest. It does make a mother feel good! I know your DD will love the quiet Magnolia. My DD sews on the Kenmore 19110 rebadged Janome I bought way back when....those Janomes are such nice machines!

This is good news. I know you are a proud mama.

I am a Quilter at heart. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors. Recently I have discovered I enjoy doing applique. I love making pictures. Using a sewing machine is much easier than counted cross stitch or oil painting for me. I enjoy landscape quilting as well. I am working on my first applique project in the spring of 2014.

All right! YAY!

How FUN!!!!

My girls are still not interested. The youngest I doubt ever will, but the oldest, I have hopes for! I even tried to tempt the oldest with that cute Hello Kitty machine, since she loves Helllo Kitty.

Dang kid got all practical on me, telling me she has no space, needs other things, blah blah blah....

I hope to hear those words myself one day. However she did go into Joann and picked out some little things for my birthday so maybe hope is there yet.

I know how you feel. Last year my 26 year old, who loves to buy fabric for me to sew for her, decided she wanted a machine. She was terrified of all my computerized machines which I would gladly have given her one. So we bought a Pfaff Hobby for her and she started to make baby gifts for her friends. A few weeks ago she made an infinity scarf and was thrilled. Honestly it is a difficult process for her. I have to try not to ask her about it too often lest she give it up. It's good she lives a few hours away from me so I cannot smother her sewing progress.
