Can you use either side of Satin, the dull side or the shiny side as the right side of the fabric?

Yes. I made a jacket several years ago that was the dull side with the collar and pocket flaps in the shine side. Looked great

I have done this with other fabrics too. One was a little too bright but the "other" side was more muted and I liked it better.

That sounds beautiful!

I probably wouldn't have thought of using the back of satin but I don't see why you couldn't. This idea has me thinking a different direction for my next special occasion dress.
