How do I tell them not to call

I received a telemarketing call from ebay today. This is new. something about a new service. At least I assume it was legit, but I honestly didn't listen to it before I deleted it. The caller id said ebay, and the caller on my voicemail said he was from ebay.

But looking at my account settings, I can't find anyplace to tell them not to call me, ever, ok unless there is fraudulent activity on my account that is a legitimate reason.

Does anyone know where in the ebay account menu I can choose the leave me the *bleep* alone setting?

aaugh I hate *bleeping* telemarketers. Apologies to any PR persons employed by telemarketers.

The laws must change regarding telemarketing. Unfortunately, any company that claims you have done business with them has a legal right to your phone line...and then some.

I simply stopped answering phone....if it is an audible caller ID that I understand, then I might answer. But, know longer drop what I am doing to answer phone.

I probably get 3-4 cals a day from telemarketers....and I am on both state and federal do-not-call lists.

Laws just did change.. they now must have your written permission to call you..

I am just sure this will put a final end to those pesty telemarketers..

And I think that was a scan Tess. .not ebay at all...

Ebay does call sellers about once a month. I'm not sure how to make them stop calling, but when they do call you can ask them to send you the new information via email. You might take the call and ask that they always use email in the future.

This used to bother me, but I've found they explain changes very well, and if I'm having any kind of problem, or have a question, they can actually help me. Anything I've asked about has always been taken care of in less than an hour.

I have an ebay account, which qualifies as a "relationship", so the do-not-call list does not apply in this case. I was just surprised not to find an "opt-out" somewhere on my account page on the website, and hoping I had missed it and y'all could point me to it.

I don't receive calls from eBay. they do send me surveys. But no calls. Why would they call you. It is a online auction place.
Which they shouldn't be calling you.
I receive email from them saying we have this special going or list for free. pay when you sell your stuff. For those eBay callers they are probley people posing as
eBay don't answer or call the numbers. They do have a privacy
act in there listings. If you need to update your info. you can go and do it on the profile page.

I found it! Guess I hadn't had enough coffee earlier.

Under "My Ebay"/account/"communication preferences"
Way down at the bottom is "promotions and surveys"
And the last selection there is:
Phone updates and promotions
Call me about eBay programs like seller specials and other special events and oppurtunities. (If you're a seller, clearing this box means you may not receive some news, information, and invitations designed to help your sales on eBay.)

I unchecked that box. Hopefully that will result in no further calls...

Oh. like now we have to read the fine print.. what is this world coming to.. Glad you found your answer.
I was just surprised that a company whose whole existence is on the net would make honest to goodness phone calls.. esp since they are so hard to call if you have a problem with an ebay transaction..

I agree. Guess if you are having a problem with ebay, ask that person who calls. (That should quiet them quickly).

And how about the phone company with their push button menu? Aren't they the phone company? Aren't they supposed to be making your life easier?
