Has anyone used the new Monster Snap Hoop (magnets extra strong)on their Baby Lock Ellisimo? Are they worth the money, and which size is best investment?
Thanks!
Linda

I took a two day class that used them and they were really nice and easier to hoop than the snap kind. They are worth the money if you can afford them.

Not a dumb question Biddy----I have a Babylock Ellisimo, and it appears the Monster Hoop magnets are much stronger than the original Magna Hoops. If I was interested, and had these stronger magnetic hoops I would be careful over and around the large display screen on the machines. Or laying any USB sticks near the hoops.
There is a good video on You Tube for the Monster Hoops. I ordered the original Magna Hoops when they first came out and had a time using them as fabrics seemed to slip around no matter how careful I was with hooping and getting the project to the machine. I ended up returning them for a refund.

I understand why they have improved this product, but have some concerns regarding the increased magnetic power. In the video she appears to struggle just a bit separating the hoops, even with the protector which leads me to believe the magnets are quite powerful.

If my dealer has them in stock or is selling them, then I would be tempted to have at least one, probably the 8 x 8, and certainly discuss with them how safe they are around the machines. I also noticed they are pricey.

Machines are not built the same these days, we used them at a sisters event(makers of these hoops) The sisters use babylock products, and have designed their hoops to work with machines, we used these hoops for 2 days on ellisimo's and 10 needle babylocks with no problems as they do not interfere with machines. machines are built on zip drive technology not like the old disk types that were affected by magnets. Also these products have been out for many years and if they caused problems with machines people wouldn't buy them. the original snap hoops moved to much for me at the sisters event so i did not purchase one, the monster hoop was demonstrated but not used and it is extremely strong, ie don't use it around a metal table as you will require strong men to get it off so i would get that one over the original as it wont shift like the original. i prefer magnahoop at the event so i puchased that

Hi, you said: "the monster hoop was demonstrated but not used and it is extremely strong,"---so, I'm confused.

I know the technology regarding the USB sticks and floppy disks drives, and magnets.

So, you did not use the Monster Hoops? Just the regular Magnetic Hoops.

I'm going to question my dealer more about the Monster Hoops, how close they pass by the right side of the machine housing right next to the touch screen as that is what I'm concerned about. Also, I would not place the Monster hoop anyplace near the USB stick. After watching the You Tube video and the strength of this "monsters" magnets, I am a bit concerned knowing how thin the housing is on the machine.

My husband had an incident with his computer when our grandson placed some small refrigerator magnet on the case surrounding the hard drive, sd drive. Since then I have been alert to magnetic anything, including pin cushions around my machines.

It is just a concern I have.

Just don't use the magnets on the computerized sewing or embroidery machine like you would the fridge.

I keep the magnets for the magna hoop in a small clay flower pot when they are not being used.

Thanks, AngieRose that is my concern using it or coming near the screen or computer as strong as it appears to hold. I am not really computer smart just would rather not hurt my machine.

We used the regular snap hoop on the machines and the magnahoop. The monster hoop was demonstrated by them. The monster hoop is a separate top you have to buy in addition to the snap hoop, but it is extremely strong as compared to the snap which i didn't find strong at all and found a lot of shifting. The monster hoop looked like it might be difficult to pull apart as that's how strong it was compared to the other. I found the magnahoop better IMHO. especially when it comes to placing the hoop on the machine. The monster hoop would probably be good for quilting as there would be less shifting than the snap hoop. as I said these ladies have been in this business for years using their products on these machines with no problems or harm to their babylocks
