I'm looking for something along the lines of Ottobre 5/2012 #19.

but longer in length and probably with a collar rather than a hood. I may end up just trying to alter this one, but was wondering if anyone might have seen a pattern that more closely resembles what I'm looking for.

The end look I'm trying to achieve is a lot like the jacket found in this auction...with maybe just a bit more length.

TIA!

Would Burda 7458 get you close to what you are thinking?

Simplicity 2508 also has a view with off-centre buttons, though not angled like the Otto jacket.

Assymetrical could equal double-breasted less buttons, tweaking to add a zipper to the one side. That way you'll get the collar and the length you prefer.

Thanks for the input. The Burda coat looks pretty cute. I am pretty much sold on the diagonal zipper though. That it was makes the whole design for me.

This coat is in the most recent (A/W 2013) issue of Burda Easy. The collar isn't a good match for your inspiration coat but it does have some of the other features:

One woman. One sewing machine. One giant stack of fabric. What could possibly go wrong?

Oh wow! I really like that. I will have to see if I can get my hands on that one. I'm not sure if it will look right with my patterned fabric with that horizontal seam, but I can probably take that out (and maybe draft in a princess. I like the collar too (I'm flexible on the collar...it was that diagonal zipper I fell in love with!). Thanks a bunch. That's would make a really good starting point for me. =)
