As soon as I read your post, my Sphynx jumped into my lap, looked in my eyes and "told me" he knew it was National Cat Day, and that we must celebrate. I will be sure to take time out of my regularly scheduled programming (re: lingerie contest sewing lol) and get a bit of playtime in for my celebration-happy felines.

------
Big 4 Pattern size 12, RTW bottom: 6, RTW jacket 8, RTW top (no size fits me well!)
Measurements: 34 HB/36 FB (34C bra)/27.5/36 (and working hard to keep it that way.)
Machines: Sewing: Elna 760, vintage Kenmore Model 33 (1967), Janome Gem Gold 3. Sergers: Babylock Imagine and Babylock Enlighten. Embroidery Only: Janome 300E. Coverstitch: Janome CP1000. Straight Stitch: Janome 1600P.

If you think your sewing is better than everyone else's around here, get out of my way b****. I hate sewing snobs.

OMG OMG OMG!! I've wanted to train my cats to be outside with the harness but none of them have enjoyed it! My husband thinks I should give up on the idea of letting my current kitty be outside at all (I lost his predecessor to predators in the desert when he ran out and that was a very traumatic experience for me).

Your kitty is spectacular!

Lucky Clyde!!!

Mine is getting the gift of new food. I have decided to try her on a raw food diet, which has a great reputation for cats with skin issues and food allergies. I am tired of paying out the nose for prescription food that seems to do nothing. The trial bag I am getting is $15, just add water, egg yolk, meat. Much more.affordable than $100/mo for wet and dry food.

Thanks, he's part Maine Coon. Very unusual cats!

I had no luck with walking him until I tried the Kitty Holster. He would slide out of all the other harnesses I tried or fight them but he took to this one very quickly. It took a week or two before he would walk nicely on it, but now jogs along like a little dog when we walk around the yard. He's never been able to break out of this one. If your cats come to you when called it helps. He loves going outside and gets very excited when he sees me pick up the harness! I snap two leashes together so he has more freedom to run ahead a little bit.

I should check out the kitty holster. We have a 19 yr old Maine Coon mix from the shelter who originally was an outside cat. We only let him out when we're with him (DH started it ) as we have a hawk that likes to hang out on the neighbor's fence. He's not quite as frisky but they definitely have their own personalities. Yours is a beauty!

Oh my goodness, so this explains why my big old grey cat Oscar liked to go for walks! He was part Maine Coon -- smartest cat I've ever known. We used to call him the King of All Cats.

Other quirks Oscar had -- he loved squeezing himself into very small spaces, such as small boxes. He also had a squeak rather than a meow. That squeak could get VERY determined, though! He also loved to go for car rides. And he used to walk us to the corner and wait for us and escort us home, lol.

I miss him -- he's been gone for almost 15 years. Wish I could take him for a walk right now.
