I am looking for a simple cross-body bag pattern. It should be a squared shape, a zip-closure under the flap, with an adjustable strap, and some inside-pocket detail. When I say "simple" I mean like this: [ example ]

I know this is simple to draft for most, but I want a pattern for a few different reasons. So if you have one, let me know! Thank you.

How about Nicole Mallieu bag

It has very detailed instructions and includes the pattern part for the flap.

One of my FAVES is this Burda pattern. It doesn't have the zip, but you could probably add one pretty easily... conversely, I use a magnetic snap on the ones I've made for people.

Lazy girl patterns had a simple one I believe called the run around; easy to modify with adjustable strap and inside pocket.

Thanks to this post and GB's reply I just found a purse pattern I've looked all over for--the "run around!" Tomorrow I will go out to buy the fabric I fell in love with to make one. If it turns out I'll make a couple for Christmas gifts in reds and greens. I can't believe my good fortune. Thanks GB!

You are welcome! I have made several of these. I am also a fan of patterns by pink sand beach designs, lots of steps but pretty thorough instructions and pics. They just finish out really nice!
Oh on the run around I prefer to make the strap starting with width of fabric plus another six inches on each end if you want to use a slider to make it adjustable. I use three inches wide to get a strap 3/4.
