My wife has some fabric she wants me to make her a skirt from.

She also has a skirt that has a 2 inch elastic band around it that she loves. All of the elastic I have is not of this quality grade. I figured/hoped you ladies could identify it quickly.

If you have a link to an online source that would be appreciated.

Here is a link to a good sized image (1200x800) so you can see it in detail.

Thanks!
Kevin

Second vote for Pam. Quality elastic isn't supposed to shrink in width when you stretch it out lengthwise. Her elastics are soft and very comfortable. You can always email her if you have questions. My elastic from her look just like the one in your picture. Don't forget to get some of her great interfacing while you're at it!

Knit and woven elastics do not get narrow when stretched. Braided elastics do. That's not because of "quality" but because of the physical construction of the fibers in the elastic. There are reaons to use all the elastic constructions, and there are poor quality elastics of all constructions. (Sadly, I've bought many of them...).

Thanks for that clarification. I only knew it as "sew in elastic" from back in the day. It helps to know that full story :)
