My Bernina did not turn on when I plugged it in yesterday. No light. Nothing. I left it plugged in for a while, and it eventually came on. I am not sure how long it took (I didn't time it) but I am sure it was well over 10 minutes. I actually got out an old machine to use. Then today I plugged it in and it came right on. Is there something wrong or is this related to the fact that I had not used my machine in some time? If there is something wrong, I would like to get it fixed before it will not come on at all. Thanks!

I have seen this happen a lot if the machine has not been used for a while. Often happens in schools after the summer holidays. It may be a sign of a problem with the l-print. Sometimes it doesn't happen again. Could you post the serial number? It's the Ch. Nr.

No, it is pretty nice in the house (about 70 degrees.) I figure if I'm not cold, neither is the machine!

This is not the first time it has happened after I haven't used the machine for a long time. The Ch. Nr. is 46599382. Then there is a long gap and an 11.

Since the print is out of warranty, I wouldn't bother doing anything about it. Maybe just turn it on once in a while, even if you aren't going to use it. If it starts shutting down while you are sewing, then you will need to replace the l-print.

The L-print converts and supplies the power to the machine. It's in the back of the machine on the part that the serial number is printed on.
