I consider myself knowledgeable about current health issues.

However, I was not aware of the health issues related to cell phones and have always carried my cell phone in my bra when I didn't want to carry a purse.

Not anymore.

A research team including former president of the American Cancer Society California and one of California’s top breast surgeons found that women as young as age 21 have developed multifocal invasive breast cancer related to this practice.

Article: Make the bra a no phone zone.

From the article:
"Most women have no idea that cellphones are two-way microwave radios that should not be kept directly on the body warns Environmental Health Trust (EHT), a group promoting safer phone use especially for non-adult users and for pregnant users."

A research "team found all these patients regularly carried their smartphones directly against their breasts in their brassieres for up to 10 hours per day, for several years, and developed tumors in areas of their breasts underlying where the phones were carried. "

Dr. Devra Davis, PhD,. MPH, the founding director of the Board on Environmental Studies and Toxicology of the U.S. National Research Council, National Academy of Sciences
was on the People's Pharmacy recently discussing this issue.

She says that also sperm motility is adversely affected when men's cell phones are carried in the pocket.

She also suggests not sleeping with your phone at night because of potential health issues. The risk is increased especially in children: "the average RF energy deposition is two times higher in the brain and 10 times higher in the bone marrow of the skull, compared with mobile phone use by adults.”

Really??? How do you get it out when it rings in public?? Not to mention what it would do to the fitting???

I've never heard of this before...I guess I'm old..

I'm glad you posted this information as many people have no idea about the dangers of wireless anything, not just cell phones. As for me, well, I've known about it for at least 5 years. It's been all over the alternative news sites for that long.

I had never heard of doing this either. I gave it a try. I don't have enough bra for a cellphone.

I found myself tucking that phone in my bra one day when I didn't have a pocket for it in my dog-walking outfit. Given a harrowing diagnosis a few years ago, it wasn't my smartest moment. After that, I went out and bought a belt with a pocket on it - something that will keep the phone directly over my intestines.... great, huh? What's next? I buy it its own little wagon and pull it at a safe distance behind me? I know of one doctor who uses his cellphone only on his right ear, never his left. He said he's right-handed, and therefore probably left-brain-dominant and when that brain tumor develops as a result of excessive cell phone use, he doesn't want it to affect his dominant hand.

As Gilda Radner said so often "It's always something!"

Oh my, I have seen women carry a lot of stuff in their bras (I saw someone's grandma pull a light bulb out of there for grandson to change LOL) but I had no idea anyone was putting their cell phones there.
Info on cell phone related cancers has been around for quite a while yet there are still people who aren't aware.
Thanks for posting this. If it reaches only 1 unaware person it has been valuable.

Here's a pic of Katy Perry from 2012 with a cell phone in her bra. Great role model, isn't she? I remember seeing this pic in 2012, but NOT on this link, and I remember gasping. Click here.

Wow! My bra would be the last place I'd think to store my phone. Okay, second to last. Panties would be last. But I'm sure someone out there stores it there too. Gross.

And btw, wouldn't storing it between the boobs invalidate the warranty very quickly? I don't want a sweaty phone! My phone sensor is water damaged simply because of me keeping it on a shelf when I'm in the shower which I don't do anymore. Katie Perry is obviously not worried about that. She has plenty of $ to buy a new phone.

I wouldn't do it just because I feel so awkward talking to my boobs.

Or do you take it out first?

I do this occasionally, but they never listen or shape up.
