Just saw the first one on Netflix--fun series, since we're waiting for more Brit series updates.
Apparently she is one of your most popular actresses and the books--are they lighter detective novels?

Love the 20's apparel and hair, the bright lighting on the show almost looks like a play or live TV--like a soap opera.
Check it out!
It says it was on our ABC, but never noticed it.

very likeable series--I enjoy it too. The series is so well made too.

As for the actress -- most popular??? She has a witty sense of humour and a good story teller. but to be honest I have only seen her on one other series (very popular - The Slap) and heard of her on stage performance but no I wouldn't say most well known or popular - may be in the near future:)

The books -- can't offer any insight-maybe I will leave it to others.

Thanks for the heads up on this series. I'd not heard of this one, so I just ordered it from Netflix.

I love this series, both the books and the TV adaptation.

Yes, they are lighter detective novels. Occasionally some unpleasant stuff happens but it is not described graphically. IMO It's more like Miss Marple than the more noir detectives & crime. (I have been enjoying the audiobook versions recently.)

Enjoy!

Thanks for the link! The history of fashion evolution is very interesting. Maybe link it to another category so others will notice it?

Enjoyed that link and learned something new. I had never heard of "art finishing" before.

Just discovered this series about a week ago and am enjoying the the Australian/Pacific flavor. That's something really new to me.

If you want to rush to Australia, there is a display of the costumes at RipponLea Estate in Melbourne until 1st December!

I saw it a week or so back, and loved it.

Some of the fabrics used in the costuming came for Tessuti fabrics (or so I undrstand). The fashion is a really interesting part of this show.

I've been watching this too and love it. Her clothing is stunning. The purple velvet coat is amazing. Her clothing is a big part of the appeal of this show. Even my dh has noticed how gorgeous the clothing is.
