What's the best way to sell my extra notions, patterns, fabrics, and trims? (By the way, I love all my fabrics and it will be hard to part with any of them but my hair is changing and I don't look good in certain colors anymore). I know I can list on "classifieds" here but it won't be long before I've worn out my welcome!! I've seen some people sell on their blogs, and I could also start a website, or sell on Etsy. I've also seen a Yahoo group but it seems too clunky.

I would not worry about wearing out your welcome. This is where your target customer is and I would think items would get snapped up pretty quickly.

Are you serious about this? Do you really feel this way? If so, I've worn out my welcome a long time ago as I've been posting in the classifieds since I started back in '02. It's one of the perks for having that PR ribbon next to your avatar.

I have to say, for what I've sold on here people have been the ultimate best! And if you did, I'd take a look-see.

You might also want to try Craiglists, yard sales, flea markets depending on what you're selling and how much of it. I'll be hogging up the PR classifies board as soon as I get my act together.

And it works a couple of ways here too. I always look for Miss Fairchild's listings first since I've bought multiple items from her and I know she'll get my items to me.

So you can build up a customer following, too, here.

So that's what that PR ribbon is… I had no idea.

I use SewItsForSale on Yahoo quite a lot. Not only for selling stuff, but for buying. They have strict rules about how to describe your sewing related items and photos. So you do have to be on the mark---but, the turnover is remarkable.

Our usual Christmas craft shows in churches and schools have not done well the last few years--lots of lookers, but few buyers--it's the economy. But we gals were able to pick up lots of deals on craft items at garage sales this summer, due to everyone selling out their scrapbooking, beading, sewing notions, yarn, etc.

One seller on Etsy told me you have to add something continually to get yourself to the top of the listing photos, so add something that's created quickly if you go that route.

That's good to know, thanks! I added a few patterns on the classifieds here. I have a lot of duplicate patterns that I think I no longer need. I only want to do this when the weather's bad outside or at night, so PR is probably my best bet for now! Thanks for everyone's input.
