First trip to the sewing store and I bought two Superior Masterpiece #50/3 threads, and one Mettler/Metrosene Plus, and also a Mettler "fine embroidery", but when I got home I discovered that the "fine embroidery" from Mettler was actually made in Spain. Do you have any experience with this thread--is the Spanish made as good as the German made?

Thank you,

I have not tried that variety of Mettler Thread But I am guessing the quality is excellent, as it always is in mettler threads. I am sure they have specs that are up to the usual, as there is no reason to suspect a lower level of craftsmanship in Spain. :)

Spain has good textiles. I've used the variegated thread from Mettler (made in Spain) and it works great. I used a double strand for topstitching.

I have sewn with some of the 60/2 wt. cotton Mettler made in Spain. I found it to be a little more fuzzy and linty. Just not quite as nice, but adequate.
