does anyone have a favourite men's pattern?

Hi I'm wanting to make my son some tab front tee shirts as I'm tired of seeing short tees on his 6'4" frame. I would like a pattern with a self fabric collar.

It seems Kwik Sew don't currently have one in print.

They have a women's version 3866 and I could just use that on a men's tee and open the tab the other way but would rather have a pattern with "the lot".

Does anyone have an old favourite? If out of print perhaps I could pick a pattern up on ebay?

It doesn't matter what pattern company it is although it would be nice if I can buy in Australia to save on the post.

From looking at KS 3866 I am guessing that you're looking for what we call a polo shirt here in the US? Jalie has one that's spot on; I don't know if you can get Jalie easily there.

I also found burda 7525, but no big four patterns that I could find. At least nothing in print, but there have probably been ones in the past that are now oop.

Sue, you can sometimes pick up old Knitwit, Stretch n Sew or Knit n Stretch patterns at the op shop. They all have great mens tshirt patterns (multi size) including tab front/polo styles.

I do have Kwik Sew mens patterns mainly from garage sales.

The polo shirt style I have is sized 40-46 and it has the older pointy collar (self fabric). I too have seen a few in the thrift shops. I would definitely go for ebay as many thrift shops I visit sell the patterns in bulk to dealers who sell on line--there is sure to be a pattern you like:)

How about the Strathcona Henley pattern from Thread Theory? Available here on PR as a printable download for <$8. Kate of Four Square Walls made the long sleeve version with a button up neck.

hi, I'm using all my stretch and sew patterns. now that knits are back in.

You can check Fabricdepot.com
MillEnds.com
they used to have some stretch and sew. and other knit patterns.

Thanks everyone. I ended up being able to get the Jalie pattern brand new on an eBay store in Australia for $20 including post. I think someone must be importing a few which is very handy as post from US is quite expensive.

I think it will be good for what I want and I also have my son's favourite shirt to measure and compare......if I can get it off his back!
