Hey all,

I'm going to be in the US from Dec 17 - Jan 9, and during that period I'll be in Arizona, Vegas and Los Angeles. So I'm looking for some fabric stores that sell higher quality fabric than Hancocks and Joanns, particularly for Arizona. I have family in California and Nevada who know what stores to hit, but just friends who don't sew in Arizona.

I'm looking for quality men's shirting and suiting - so linens, silks, cottons and tropical wools. Any suggestions?

thanks!

My dd went to UofA in Tuscon and I looked but never found any great fabrics. I like LV for home dec fabrics, but never found much else either.
You might consider ordering from
http://www.michaelsfabrics.com/ and having the package sent to your relatives addy. They sell what you're looking for and have good prices.

Since Leandro's closed in 2008, I don't think there are any high end garment fabric stores left in Tucson. The SAS Fabrics chain *might* have some nicer fabric but I wouldn't count on it (it's an outlet type of chain and a hit or miss... great place to treasure hunt but not if you're limited on time).

I second the suggestion to get ahold of Michael's Fabrics. They are a great store and might be able to send swatches to your first location and get you the order by the time you're done.

I have only shopped the SAS Fabrics in Phoenix and don't know of any other stores in that area. I left Tucson in 2008.
