Looks like their server has crashed, but the new patterns look adorable. A great uni-sex duffle coat and a good "man bag."

They sure are! They're the first Colette patterns in a while that I have really been impressed with. Love both the coat and the bag.

Idk, I personally am not into toggle coats, and it's not something my SO would wear. He prefers stuff with more structure. I like the bag, but it looks like it needs a bit more support to keep it's shape in a few of the photos. When it comes to bags though I don't think I would ever buy a pattern, so I may be biased. I think I'm gonna pass, as exciting as a kit is.

Oh and in the shop section it says the cooper bag was actually designed by this woman and not sarai? http://pansymaiden.com/

the kit is 60 dollars though, so it's out of my price range anyway.

I do like the clean lines of the coat, but I feel like I have something similar in my issues of Burda. I'm a bit curious about the drafting, though, because obviously men's chests are shaped very differently than women's, but the coat looks like it needs a semi-tailored fit. In the photos, it looks like it fits the man pretty well

But I can see some slight strain lines on the woman:

I don't like toggles either but it looks like a simple change to put in a button or covered zipper placket instead. I like the idea of this pattern, but I'm not sure how it would work out IRL.

I agree on the women's fitting issue. Most toggle coats I've seen for women are princess seamed.

I sent the links to DH, and he's a fan of the toggle coat, and we both liked the messenger bag, so both patterns and the hardware kit for the bag (the $6 kit, not the $60 one) are on their way to our house.

Agree on that. I appreciate the pattern, but don't think I could make it for myself without significant pattern alterations.

These are the first Colette patterns I really like. I think the duffel coat would be great for outdoor gear type coat for me. There have been some great ideas coming from indie designers lately. Thread theory for men, Papercut collective has new patterns out, Grain ine has a cute duffel now too and I think Named is going to put out a new line for spring. Love it!
