I want to add a 10 inch knit boarder to a knit dress I am making , should I cut it on the bias even though it is a knit, I know someone added one to a pattern just can not remember who or what the pattern was.

Is the border on the hem?

I would think the knit fabric does not need to be cut on the bias.

Knit fabric shouldn't be cut on the bias. You want it to stretch the same way as the rest of the dress.
