Hi all.. I have a Janome Finesse 234 serger which I use on a daily basis as I work as a 'sewist' from home. Lately the lower looper keeps on unthreading while serging and I take about half an hour to re-thread it, only to have it unthread itself about 2 seams later . I absolutely dislike having to use my serger and this is driving me crazy.. any hints??

You may not be threading it correctly, or the thread may be catching on something. You could also have a thread stuck somewhere? Check your tension disks; someone on here said to take dental floss and run it through the disks to clean them. I haven't done that but it makes sense. Change your needles and clean it out good. Double check the way you are threading it to make sure you are not missing something. If it was working before, it is probably something simple. HTH

Thanks Marie - I threaded it from scratch and it went for quite a while.. enough to be able to overlock 12 cushion covers. I am sure the problem is all on my side - and I'm sure it can sense my feelings!! I don't enjoy working with it one little bit but have to use it daily for my work.
