My dad recently got a new aide, who, luckily, gets on well with my mom. She has even inspired my mom to start cleaning out one of her (very neat) hoarding rooms-the craft room. My happiness is two-fold: she's actually getting rid of things- the aide does the moving, mom does the directing- and mom found a stash of sewing stuff that she didn't realize she still had.

I am now the happy owner of about 25 zippers ranging from 4" to 22", mostly skirt, dress, and top lengths, with a few separating jacket length zippers. About 10 yards of lining in various colors, which I desperately needed for a couple of jackets I want to make. Thimbles and needle threaders, which I will use at school with my sewing/math/reading/writing extended day group. Odd pieces of corduroy and velvet, including an already cut out men's red corduroy vest, which I can easily adapt for myself ( and, wow, some wicked welt pockets mom sewed!). Scissors and shears (my weakness)- 8", 10", embroidery, all perfect for my travel sewing kit, even an unused electric scissor.

And...a couple of vintage patterns. Mostly men's vests and ties, but also a Butterick blouse pattern that my grandmother started to cut out- has to be at least 50 years old, since she passed before I turned 5- in a spectacular petal pink textured sheer fabric. And in a size that, if it doesn't fit exactly, can be adjusted easily. Happy me!

Will try to attach a picture of the pattern .

Here's a little help
