I was given a White Sewing Machine Model 1411 to give to my daughter for Christmas but the manual to it was lost with the original owner. I need to know how to thread the machine and load bobbins so I can teach her how to sew clothes for her daughters, my granddaughters. Can anyone PLEASE help me with this. A sewing machine is the only gift my daughter wants this year. Help me put a smile on her face PLEASE!!!

You can download the manual for free from the Singer site.

Here is the threading:

All the manuals I saw online were for a price - sorry, I tried!

Which of these two manuals is the one for the sewing machine you have?

Link 1. Model W1411 manual at singerco

Link 2. Model 1411 at singerco

These are two different sewing machines with apparently the same model #...one has a vertical bobbin and one has a specialty wind in place drop-in bobbin.

The "W" stands for White. The other link is for a Singer machine.
Also, when searching for White models, if after entering your model number, you see a "WS" prefix on the download list, then that stands for a White serger. Or, at least it should! I have seen the links mixed up on that site before with some of the older models. Hope that helps.

It looks like you can download it here.

Hope that works for you!

Edited: Looking at a diagram and a photo of your model 1411 White online, it looks, as best as I can tell, to be a basic, common bobbin winding set-up. The thread will run left from the thread holder, cross over itself and back to the right, where the bobbin will be set on the little bobbin winder. You'll hand wind it a few times around the bobbin, then push the bobbin in (it will click into place), and then press on the foot pedal to engage the bobbin winding system. Once it is full, it will likely stop on its own; or else, you can tell when it is full and evenly wound, and stop it. I can't be sure of course, not having the manual in front of me, but I am fairly certain that it takes those steps. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Make sure to read and apply as you begin reading the manual and do not skip or go only by the pictures.

Test the stitching, then set down with your daughter and do the same routine before she starts to use the machine.

This small amount of time will not be wasted as it will save a lot of frustration and down time if something is missed and the machine malfunctions.

Don't forget to include basic notions and some fabric with the gift.

Happy sewing!

You're correct about the W is for White and the other link is for a Singer.

I linked to both manuals since they each have the same model number to be thorough...and asked the OP which manual is for her sewing machine.

Wow! How cool is that -- Singer provides White user manuals as well, having acquired it through Husqvarna! I looked it up on Wikipedia. You learn something new every day!

Edit: Which is why sewing is so much more of a hobby than just running a piece of fabric under a presser foot. Love the sewing community!

I hear you about thorough...I downloaded and opened before posting, though my phone still won't let me post a link.
I probably should have given some White/Singer history lest the OP think PR a waste of time.
