I love my Janome 9900! I sewed double faced binding on a tablerunner. Two layers of quilting cotton, on layer of fusible fleece and four fabric layers of the binding. Sweet! Smooth. No issues. I sew slower when sewing over layers . I used the standard foot. My new walking foot for this machine is on order. Very happy.

Yeah! Sounds like more quilting is ahead for you.

With a great wardrobe that's still in the flat-fabric stage.

Sounds great! You will also like your walking foot for using thicker layers than you have used so far, and for matching plaids, sewing velvet, corduroy, etc. I love a walking foot!

I have been away from sewing for 4 months due to work, but that's DONE and it's time for me to get back into it. You've reminded me that right before this job started in August, I purchased a walking foot mainly because I was in a mood to do something just for myself. Retail therapy, no? But I've not yet used it because I haven't been sewing. Maybe tomorrow, as my better half will be golfing! Yay!

Hauteaway, have fun with your new walking foot today! I had to laugh at the small "YAN" at the bottom of your post, as I am "yet another Nancy" too.
