I went back and searched in the Machine Embroidery board for the past year and didn't see anything to keep tabs on current sales. Wouldn't it be nice to see what kinds of offers are out there? This is all new to me. I hope this can be like the Pattern Sales thread that just keeps rolling on as sales crop up.

Here's an email I got today from the Embroidery Library.

Quote:

Here's how to take $5 off your $10+ order:

1. Fill your basket to the brim with your
choice of designs or packs - there are no
restrictions;

2. When the total reaches $10 or more, type
this discount code into the field on the
bottom of the basket page:

Frosty5

3. Click the 'Apply Code' button;

4. Check your total to confirm the $5 discount;

5. Click the 'Check out' button, place your order,
and download the discounted designs.

You can use the Frosty5 discount code up to three times between now and 11:59 pm Central time on Sunday, December 22nd.

I wanted to link to the exact page, but I don't find one that says precisely what is quoted above in the email.

There's this one that is all seasonal. However, the email says no restrictions.

Please post design sales and favorite designs too. My current favs from the Embroidery library are these Molas an orange one and the mola sun. There's 46 pages of them. With the sale it's buy 2 for $11 and take off $5. You can do that 3 times so pretty darn close to 1/2 off.

Inevitably, when I buy a specific embroidery design, they put it on sale 2 days later. It really ticks me off!

I'm new to this game and hope we can get ahead by posting sales. Course, ya gotta be patient and manage that clicky finger thing. Uh oh, mine is twitching at this very moment.

I believe those sales aren't designed to be shared. You usually have to buy something to be able to get those sales. I believe in the past they've asked not to share the links you get via email.the links might only work with email addresses they were sent in. Meaning that if you didn't have an account before or didn't buy
something in the last month.

Uh oh! And I'm not joking. I thought they didn't say that in the email. However, I just went back and reread closely. I'm greeted by name in the email and it says there are 2 extra-special gifts waiting for me. I am registered on the site. It's not clear to me how I or anyone would know what's fine to share and what's not. My intentions were good, but . . . What should I do now?

I got that same email this morning. I would think that anyone registered at EL would get that same email. And, if they pick up new sales as a result of the posting, I'd think that was a plus. They're pretty liberal with their sales there.

Quote:
You received this mailing because you registered at www.emblibrary.com. To unsubscribe from notices of new designs, free designs, sales, and special offers, reply to this email with the word 'unsubscribe.' We'll miss you!

If it was a special deal because you've bought something, it's going to say that. A lot of people use "You're such a valuable customer" gimmicks in their ads. I'd be curious what kind of sale was asked not to be posted because it's completely counter-productive to the point of the sale which is to sell stuff.

If it's a private sale, I'm sure the email would mention that.

Well, you've given me food for thought. Thanks. I do laugh when I get a "private" mailing and I wonder how many others are privately receiving this too. Next time I'll read more carefully.

My idea was that I see announcements on PR of sales for My Embroideries, Kara's Kreations, Christmas Clubs and so on, that are scattered here and there in various threads. Why can't they be put in an identified thread like paper patterns have a thread? Are downloadable embroidery designs inherently different?

Embroidery designs aren't a tangible product requiring an inventory. This doesn't make them less valuable, but it does reduce their overhead considerably. If they had to keep thousands of CDs on-hand or something, they'd be less likely to discount it arbitrarily. Once the designs are digitized though, every sale is a bonus.

Anyway, I wrote them and asked, so we'll see what they say.

Now that's very sensible. I am eager to hear what their reply is. Thanks for taking this initiative. I'm hoping they say they want the sales and potential new customers introduced to them for future business.
