I got Pattern Magic books and want to try out the techniques they demonstrate. Does anyone else have these and want to give it a go?

I had to look this up, since I'm not familiar with it. The Internet says it's a "cult pattern making book from Japan." That sounds interesting and fun....but what are those cubes sticking out from the dress form's chest for? My curiousity got the best of me and I just had to ask!

I saw cubes like that sewn onto a tunic at an indie fashion show here in Austria. I would have bought it if designer clothes came in my size. It was interesting. Definitely something to wear if you want an ice breaker :)

I've been dying to try these--will certainly lurk! Do you follow the "petit main sauvage" blog? She's in the Netherlands and has done classes on the pattern magic methods.

I have made several pattern magic garments and tried out some of the other patterns in half scale. I daren't make a commitment to join, as RL is a bit crazy right now, but I will def. lurk. Good luck with this.

I would love to! I have the books AND a half size mannequin. I've only got the Japanese editions though so having some translation help would be great!
I've always said that a remote house on a lake, good internet service, parcel delivery and the pattern magic books were all I would need for a perfect year!

Its true, these fashion statements arent for the faint of heart. But its more about the learning of techniques than wanting to wear ice cubes on your boobs :-D

ConnieBJ, so glad you're joining in! I will try to do mine full size since I just completed my bodice block :)
