Hi,I would like to know how many stitches(utility and decorative) the bernina virtuosa 160 has.how fast it stitches a straight stitch and decorative,I've only had janome and brother computerized machines thus far and I really would like to have a machine that stitches everything fast.I've seen a 160 advertized on gumtree at a great price and it looks like a really great machine.its either the 160 or a artista 180 but I've read the artista has lots of tension issues?looking forward to feedback thanx :)

I have a similar machine, the 155. I don't know how many stitches are on it, but you can swap out stitches for different ones on these machines.
I've never had tension issues with my machine. It has adjustable foot pressure also.
The 150-160 models are nice workhorse models. Mine is 10 years+ old now, no problems. Sturdy and great stitch quality. I like that when I turn it on, it's ready, and you just push buttons to get what stitch you want.
I have rarely used decorative stitches on my machine, except for the blanket stitch, which it does well. Mine is 5.5 mm, so I used a 9 mm machine I had on the rare occasions when I needed it. However, they have a lot of decorative stitches on them, just remember you are limited by your width.
It has the lightening stitch for knits, several buttonholes, triple stitch, all the basics.
Good luck in your search.
