Hi

I have the chance to purchase a Kenmore 1803 for $80. Comes with cabinet, accessories and 29 CAMS. Is this a good price?

Yes i feel it is very fair, but some folks find em for less or free. Anytime you can buy a working machine like that w/ all the accessories in a sturdy cabinet for under $100, then that's a deal to my mind. Be at least willing to pay for a service, tune-up (if needed) at $100-ish.

I agree that is a very good price for all the things you are getting. It would cost much much more here. ... the Kenmore is suppose to be very sturdy & a good sewer too.
I hope you can get it...

I have this one and it's a beaut as they say in Australia. It won't go as fast as other machines, but it's got two belts to down the speed but it's made to go over many thick layers of fabric without stalling.

I saw a utube video of someone who "took a simlar KENMORE to the limits". He hooked up a lawnmower motor to power it, made the foot pedal depressed all the time and then started "hurting" the machine. He took off top. He poured a bunch of nuts and bolts inside the machine as it was running at top speed and it still ran! I was amazed and too afraid to share the video with anyone for fear they'd get ideas about MY machines!

It is a super oldie. I had two. One a cabinet model bought locally with all accessories including monogram cams and hydrolic lift for $80 .Lady had no idea if it was running. It took a while to discover the knee control. The other got of e-Bay for $50 plus shipping which had a few issues and was missing a few things. I had to sell both as I moved across country otherwise would still have it. It is a Super high shank model made in Japan.
