I wish I could tell you exactly how the belts are replaced on a Kenmore 158.1941.I had the same Kenmore model,I never had to replace a belt on that model.I still have 3 boxes with Kenmore 158.1941 sewing machine accessories, cams, monogrammer and more. I loaned the machine to someone I thought was a very reliable person. Not !

The person moved and my sewing machine too.Needless to say,I never loan anything to anyone again ! I rather give them one of my old sewing machines for free,or tell them to look around at thrift stores and buy an old machine.

There is a Kenmore Yahoo group, you may find pictures of how to replace belts.

Install the new belt. Loosen the motor-mounting screws, and shift the motor toward the hand wheel so you can slip the belt over the parts.
Step 4

Shift the motor away from the hand wheel to increase the belt's tension, then tighten the motor-mounting screws and check the tension. The belt should flex no more than 1/2 inch (12 mm). If it is too loose, increase the tension.
Step 5

Reinstall the covers and plug in the machine, more instructions here.

In case someone needs a belt, this place may have replacement belts for Kenmore 158.1941 and other Kenmore 158. sewing machines manufactured by Marusen/Jaguar in Japan,I would contact the site.
