Lynda will be teaching a fit class on Tuesday evenings in San Mateo that starts on January 14th.

We still need a few more people to make it go.

Is anybody out there interested?

Thanks for posting. Have just passed this on to some sewing friends in the Bay Area. Lynda's great, but the timing's not workable for me.

If anyone is on the fence with this - do it! Lynda is an amazing and patient teacher. You'll be very pleased with what you learn.

If I had the money I would be there in a heart beat, which is saying something as I live in the Midwest. I so want to take a class with Lynda I took her Craftsy class and hope she plans on doing some more?

*****this is the info I received about the class and cost. This message mentions a class description sent out earlier which I'm trying to obtain. I believe, since it's a long class, one would work on 1 or 2 slopers but I'll find out for sure. If you're really interested, I'll send you the coordinators contact info by private message. Thanks again for reading!*****

Hi, Sewers,

Good news! We have a place, a set of dates, and costs for the fit class that Lynda Maynard will be teaching in the spring. The place is Always Quilting at 4230 Olympic Ave, San Mateo, CA 94403 (near Molly Stone's on El Camino). The dates are:

1/14 & 21
2/4,11, 18
3/4, 11, 18
4/1, 8,15,22
5/6,13,20, 27

Please note that Lynda will be teaching at the Sewing Workshop on four Tuesday evenings in the spring. That's why four Tuesdays don't appear on the list above. Regardless, we still have 16 classes.

We're thinking 6:30 - 9:30 PM (similar to the Caņada schedule).

Lynda's fee for 3 hours is $300. Always Quilting is giving us the space for $30/night. This means the total cost of the class is $5280. If we divide that by 12 students, the cost will be $440/person. If we divide that by 15 students, the cost will be $352. Since we don't know how many of you will commit, this will give you an idea of the cost, which ought to help you decide whether you can do it. (I know several of you were concerned about cost.)

In the next couple of weeks, we will provide you with directions for paying for the class. Meanwhile, would you please let me know if you are still interested, given this information? Some of you may not have received the description of the class I sent out earlier. If you didn't, please let me know, and I will forward it to you.

Extra info: Always Quilting is between the Hillsdale and Ralston exits from 101. It is a little farther from the 92 exit off of 280. Although Always Quilting technically will be closed when we are there, a staff person who can run a tab for any purchases we might want to make across the evening will be present. A couple of Featherweights will be available for our use, although we must provide our own thread/bobbins. Always Quilting sells muslin, and they will stock more before the class starts. There is a kitchen with microwave available for our use. Folks are welcome to arrive early, bringing food, and have dinner before class (especially if they are going from work to class). Mollie Stone's has a Starbucks; there is a Round Table within a block.

OK, I think that's it for now. Please let me know if you have questions.
This is going to be fun!

Best,
Betsy

I'm possibly interested but would like to see a class description before I commit. Thanks for posting the info, Annie.

Hello!

Here is some additional info on the class with Lynda from Betsy who is coordinating the class.

**********Hi, Annemarie,

Sorry that took so long. I've never really had a description from Lynda. This is the one I put in the original email:

It is a class in which students make a skirt (pencil or A-line), a sheath, a pair of pants (and maybe a jacket - can't remember). Lynda asks students to keep a record of their adjustments through half-scale (quarter-scale?) images in a notebook students maintain throughout the semester. ****

Betsy also said that Lynda said she could send along a syllabus so I am waiting for that . Feel free to private message me if I can help. Thanks for reading!
