Hi folks,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Singer Futura Quintet? It's on the HSN website with that name, but it looks similar to the Futura XL-550 model. I haven't found any reviews on either machine, nor do I get any returns when I do a search of the message boards. Any comments on your experience with this machine, good or bad, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I have a much older Futura, but it works just fine. It is a combo SM and EM. Both features work terrific! I haven't yet heard of this one, and that may be why you haven't yet found any reviews, too new ?
Thank you and enjoy the new machine, if you've actually purchased it.

Thank you so much for your reply! I'm definitely considering it as my first foray into embroidery and you having a good experience with previous machines in the futura line is reassuring. If I do go with it, I'll post updates. Thanks so much

From what I have read (here and there over the years) make sure to keep your software in a safe place as if it gets lost or damaged it may not be replaceable.

It can also become obsolete if you buy a new PC with an operating system not compatible with the Singer software.

Check the Singer website to see what the operating system requirements are as well as update possibilites. You may not need updates now, but later on, who knows!

I took the plunge and bought this machine. It arrived yesterday and so far everything looks good. The stitches look excellent on my test projects so far, and the embroidery software is easy to use (I'm a computer person). The embroidery I've tried so far looks lovely as well. After I get some more hours with this machine under my belt I'll get a review in.
