Ugh. I have a Pfaff 2027. I love it and will have had it for 6 years next month. I was sewing and my part of my needl threader broke. I am a bit upset. I know that in the grand scheme of things it's not monumental. But my eyesight isn't that great. Also, I worry that is something else going to go wrong with my sm now? I love this sm, and I don't have any money for another one. This Pfaff is my first sm that cost me quite a bit. I haven't had any major issues with it or anything. I do plan on taking it in soon to have it serviced. Just a routine tune up or whatever they call it for sms. Lol. Honestly, I've never had it done before. The place I bought it from charges quite a bit. But I trust them.

Are these things hard to replace? How would I go about installing it myself.

I think that I also needed to tell somebody who understands about how their sm is precious to them. Thanks for listening.

Your SM-baby's needle threader can be quickly and easily replaced when you take her in for her spa day.

You may want to call your spa technician ahead of time to let them know you need the threader replaced, to ensure they have the parts on hand.

I have also heard that this is not an expensive replacement and quite common. By taking your sm in for maintenance, you have a good chance of preventing more problems, at least for a good while. I know, though, it's upsetting when something on your beloved sm breaks!

This may already be obvious to you. What I did while my auto-threader was on the fritz was to take a white business card/index card and hold it behind the needle....amazing how it helps find that needle hole. I have vision issues as well and had a really tough time threading those small needle eyes.

Just in case you can't afford to take your SM in for repairs, this Dritz Machine Needle Inserter and Threader works wonderful. It took me a couple practices and then was easy peasy! It's great for threading/inserting serger needles too!

I didn't search but there may be other brands that are cheaper. Great gadget!

I still haven't figured out how to use my needle threader. It completely perplexes me.

I broke the needle threader on my Singer Futura and called a dealer in my area. Told them what had happened and they had me order a very small part and told me how to put it in. Well I did it, no problem, but that wasn't the issue. I think I bent it, the needle threader, not the new part. So when I next take that maching in for servicing, I will see what they can do! It is a handy item, but not super-duper necessary.

Don't worry...I bet they can fix it up good as new. Plus, they will give it a once-over to ward off any other potential issues. It's usually well worth the money.

My dealer's service dept. has a one-day option...if you set up an appointment in advance you can request it...drop off in the morning and pick it up late afternoon. I love that!

My mom bent the automatic needle threader for me elna 720 but in the end it was just a little piece of plastic/metal that I bought for 8$ and was able to replace myself since it snapped right on. So not all fixes are complicated or expensive - hope the pfaff has a similar solution for your needle threader.

I have never like those gizmos on machines....they are definitely helpful to many people. I just think they get in the way!
