EDIT: The price is back up to $95. Perhaps the $59 was a typo...

This book is usually $95 or more. It's currently $59 on Amazon, eligible for prime shipping. If I hadn't gotten it for Christmas I'd be ordering it right this second!!

If anybody has any questions about the book, please ask. I love that it explains/diagrams alterations for pretty much ANY figure variation you can think of. Its approach to diagnosing fitting issues is heavy on the patternwork side (where to measure on the pattern, how to compare those measurements to the body measurements, which measurements will be different/the same in different scenerios), but it also shows how these fit issues will look on sewn garments/muslin.

ETA: Here's the Amazon price history from CamelCamelCamel.com:

Oh, I've had this on my wish list for ages. I've heard wonderful things about it. $60 is still pretty expensive, though.

Yeah, $60 may be more than everyone wants to spend on a book, though it's still a significant discount from what it normally costs. It's a paperback, but a very hefty one. Some of the expense may come from it being published as textbook.

This is my absolute favorite fitting book. It is available used for as low as $29.99 if you chose to go that route.

I'd never found it for a reasonable price used. I decided that I would have non-buyers regret if I didn't get it, since I've stared at it for years, so I dove in and got it.

A little light reading for me. Thanks for letting us know.

Did you two get yours spiral bound? i read some reviews where people brought their book to a local shop and had that done, so it would lie flat.

Is that price for the first or second edition? The second is better, IMO- there's more info on crotch shape for pants and the diagrams are clearer.

I had mine spiral bound.

Excellent book - the one I would take with me to the desert island.

The $59 is for the 2nd edition. I've never seen the 2nd edition, new or used, for anything close. I've seen the first edition, and I agree, I like the 2nd better.

I just got my copy and haven't had it spiral bound but am considering it. I actually have a simiarly bound cookbook that is falling apart that I might take in first to be spiral bound, as a test.

The picture is showing the 2nd edition. Great price for a great book.
