Be still my heart! The FREE Craftsy 2014 Block of the Month Class is up and it's dealing with color theory. Anybody with me?

OOOOH that sounds cool. I think I'll sign up for this one. I like the idea of one block a month. I also looked just now at Leah Day's new 2014 class. Nothing about color though, but it's about free motion, and you do a quilt as you go technique.

I just watched the first lesson. They're using Batiks -- yummy. I was lucky with the last two BOM classes because I already had fabric that was suitable to use in my stash. Not so with Batiks. I'm trying to decide whether to order the fabric kit or not.

Well, since my jelly roll strip for the other sew a long is loud batiks, I don't want another one.
I can't watch Craftsy at work. Do they allow you to use pastels, or use a certain range of colors - like so much blue, so much red, so much whatever? I'm confused. I guess I should just watch the darn thing at home, lol. And is the kit so many fat quarters of each or what?

If you enroll in the class, you can click on Materials and you'll be able to see their choice of fabrics -- some Michael Miller batiks. You can also print out the fabric yardage needed. The kit has 26 pieces for a total of 10 yards.

Link please. Hard to do all these things on my phone.

I really enjoy quilting. I love to play with fabrics, colors and pictures. I recently discovered how much fun applique can be. As I love making pictures, landscape quilting can be challenging, but seeing the picture come to life is so rewarding.

Okay, so I was able to watch the first lesson. Not bad. But, I doubt if I can find stuff from my stash for this. At least not stuff that goes well style wise for the whole quilt. I'll have to think on it.

Yeah, me too. I might watch a couple of lessons before I decide if I want to invest that much in fabric for this particular quilt. But I think the color theory information will be really helpful for me.
