Just received a MC12000 and have watched many videos and read many threads gathering info. on this machine while anticipating its arrival.(six days of road closures.) If memory serves, the MC15000 came with 3 bobbin holders and I thought 2 came with the 12000. One was for sewing and the other for embroidery. For some reason the videos will no long open for me. The manual mentions a special bobbin for embroidery so maybe it is an optional accessory.
Can someone confirm this one way or the other?
Thanks
Gloria

Hi,if you look on page 3 in your Janome MC12000 manual you can see all the standard accessories that were originally included when the machine was brand new.In case you don't have a manual, you can look at or download a free MC12000 pdf manual here.

Hi, thanks for your response. This is a bit overwhelming just out of the box. Can't wait to sit and play with this machine. It has been very cold so I decided to just take inventory and let the machine warm up to room temp. before turning it on.

Hopefully we will have many years to spend together.

I don't have your EM brand, but the combo that I do have came with two bobbin cases/holders; one for sewing and one for embroidery. I never switch them.

The weight for the EM bobbin thread is 60 and is not that much different than sewing thread/bobbin weight.

Hi, PattiAnnJ
I appreciate your input. This is not my first combo and options do change over time but, the less one has to consider before starting a new project the better. The same bobbin holder worked for both sewing and embroidery in the past and it is the different thread weight options available today that could present a need for a change in the bobbin holder, I guess. I'll be happy to use what is close at hand.
Thanks

I have this machine and it came with two bobbin cases. The one with the yellow dot on it is used for embroidery unless you're using Janome bobbin thread. It has a little higher tension in it to accommodate the lightweight bobbin thread.

There is another bobbin case that Janome makes with a blue dot on it. That one's for free motion quilting. It has slightly less tension than the standard one. That's the one that's purchased separately.

Okay, that is what I understood. My machine was a trade in with very few hours on it and the embroidery unit had never been used. My dealer did a stitch out on it, just to be sure everything was as he expected and the machine came with the
embroidery foot etc. attached and one bobbin holder in the machine. It is so great to find a site where people are so helpful
and you get answers that help keep you on the right track and confirm that you might not be losing it.

I have a Baby Lock and it too has a special bobbin case for embroidery. I only use it on hard to embroider fabrics like terry cloth baby bibs. Then it's a lifesaver. I hope you enjoy your new machine.

Thanks, Lucy in Virginia. I did call my dealer and he said it was not in the box, he didn't think about it because he never switches out the holders but has ordered one for me. So, all is
well. Haven't had much time to play but love all the different options and software there is to learn. Can just feel my old brain
effervescing.
All the Best that 2014 has to offer.
