Ive been missing you all - I hope to spend some time looking though the posts later tonight to see what everyone has been up to.

The holidays were busy here - I was quilting like crazy and trying to figure out how to make going to grad school work out. I live about 2 hours from the school of my choice and I do not want to drive there 2 days a week and have a car (and the b/s that comes with that) - Nor do I want to move there. So, I was stressed out and when I finally made a choice... something else got in the way and changed my plans for me. I wont be going to grad School this semester - maybe in the fall. Im not sure?

Ive been enjoying my machines - but, have decided to get rid of the industrial - mostly because of the noise it makes and the clunky-ness of a 74 year old machine. The machine is fine - but, is better suited for a studio space or a garage - not really for my tiny condo. I would totally buy a newer industrial if the chance came up, though.

Ive been piecing on the Kenmore and quilting with the ind.

Anyhow - here is a quilt Ive been working on. I love red and white quilts.

And a pic of the kenmore hard at work.

Welcome back! We missed you too! And thank you for rewarding us with another spectacular quilt. Your quilts rock! This one looks like a Burgoyne Surround. Very traditional and very lovely!

I could understand your hesitance in the Grad school decision... Being a student and making a living at the same time is not an easy thing. I remember all too well and sometimes I had to take a break just so that I could earn more money to afford going back without taking a huge loan. I had a car then too, but it was a beat up old VW that barely got me to school most days. I eventually got rid of it and arranged to commute with another student as we studied in the same program and had many of the same classes together. Sometimes I look back at that time in my life and wondered how I ever got through it. Both my parents were gone by then so I was on my own. Give yourself more time to work out a plan. School is a good thing and a great investment in your future.

I'm sorry to hear grad school had to be put off, but I hope you can make it work next term. I started grad school when I turned 40 and really enjoyed being in the classroom again.

Love this latest quilt!
