Hello,

I've done a muslin of this jacket from the last Burda Easy issue :

As you can see, it has two-pieces sleeves, and the biggest "piece" of each sleeve has piecing/seaming at the elbow



I must lengthen the sleeves by 2 cm (2/3") because they are a tad short. Usually I do it on the hem, but here I want to do it above the elbow, in order to lower the piecing/seaming zone (right now, it's a bit too high, I guess my additionnal length is all in my upper arms).

Can I just slash each piece of of the sleeve perpendicular to the straight of grain, somewhere between sleeve head and elbow, and spread by 2 cm ? Or is there some trick ?

I would do it the way you said. It looks like the center seam is meant to be at the elbow so as long as it is above the piecing it should look fine.
