I'd love
To make a beautiful sewn tutu for our grand daughter. I know how to make the tied ones, but I'd like to make one of the sewn ones with the pretty silk ties like a halter around the top. Does anyone k ow how or where to get instructions? Thank you! Syl

I hope this is a good start to help you with this! It's pretty thorough and can easily be adjusted to have straps to tie instead of elastic, though you may have to hand gather it further than the ruffler foot does. link NAAY, just googled it

2014 resolution: keep track of sewn yardage!! I'm subtracting fabric given away from my yardage in. Yeah!
In: 93 yards
Sewn: 57 yards

I'll try anything once :)

Thanks for sharing this wonderful tute! (tutu tute?) It's so well done, and I love her writing style. My granddaughters may get some of these!

The author of that tutorial is a hoot. Since I have a granddaughter and see tutus in the future, this is also getting printed out. Thank you!

I really like the instructions for a tutu in Little things to Sew by Liesl Gibson. It gives a really beautiful finish. I made this one for a school auction But I don't think my photos really do it justice.

I like that one, too.The way she used the different colors is really beautiful.
Have the book, have the tulle, haven't got around to make one yet!
