I have a Husqvarna Viking Designer Diamond Royale (it is now one week old). Yesterday I took a class on the 6D Premier Embroidery software. That software blew my mind and left me with more questions than answers about the capabilities of my machine. The software does SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much that I'm left questioning whether or not it would have made more sense to get a lower-level machine.

Any 6D Premier owners here? Feel free to chime in.

I'm learning the 4d just now. Reading
And trying to figure it out. DVDs are the
Way to go. Get the series for the 6d premier
You can go back watch it and then work
On that step. I figure it will take me about
6 months to learn.
Good luck. Once you mastered it it will
Be a piece of cake.

Thanks, Skae. Learning the software is pretty simple for me, even without the experience. It's just that I have such a robust machine that I'm wondering if I made a good choice and if I should have purchased a lesser machine because the software will do all of the work.

No, you made the right choice to have the better machine. It probably allows you to place the needle exactly where it needs to be and is a stronger machine.

I took the same class last night at my local dealer. What a decision to make. My head hurts with all the embroidery comps I've been doing. Before the class I thought Embroidery Works was the way I was going to go, but NOW, I feel like I'm back at square one. The thing that I noticed about the graphics and images in the PFAFF is that they have a completely different look to them. Did you notice that?

You are absolutely correct. The "design position" feature allows me to place the needle exactly where I want it. It's definitely a great feature. I also like the feature that takes me where I left off if for some reason the power should go off in the middle of a project.

I haven't seen the Pfaff graphics. We didn't have any of the Pfaff owners in class.

I think the more you learn your software the more efficiently you will use your machine as well. I do think the TOL machine can handle a lot of the editing on board without software but its a more is more type of thing. The more you learn one the more you want to do with the other

Ideally I'd like to find some training classes that will match my pace. There just isn't a whole lot out there.

Have you tried Tim Frost's site Mr patience I think is the website. I think he has moved from all webinar's to some video library access you pay for. I don't use 6D I stopped at 4D but I am still on the mailing list. I have a couple of his books which are good
