Curious if anyone else on PR is in this area, I'm planning to be heading back to the peninsula later this fall. Hope we can get together and ransack Dong Dae Mun and Happy Quilt soon!

Just sharing that I am a Korean drama queen addict!! I have gone off the deep-end Korea-Krazy and, since I watch so many kdramas, I consider myself to have earned dual mental citizenship--U.S. (of course) and S. Korea. I'm even trying to learn the language.

I've always loved drapey chiffons, which is popular in kfashions,

Wish I could join you...but, mentally, I'm there.LOL!

I have some of their high end cosmetics and they are lovely. Wonder why they don't export them.

If you're in Seoul, check out my post on Dongdaemun. As I understand it they are renovating certain parts of that market and it has become a bit more posh than when I left (2009). The new Marriott next door is super convenient for shoppers visiting the area (it took over the parking lot to the right of buildings C and A in the overview picture I have on my blog post).

I'm not sure where the new Happy Quilt location is in Songtan but will definitely be updating information on its whereabouts when I get back.

If this your first time in Korea, enjoy it and let's keep in touch. I expect to be heading out there in the fall.

In the meantime, here's my blog post about shopping at DDM:

Believe it or not I was able to avoid much of the K-dramas the last time I was there (helped we didn't have a TV). My sister got sucked in though when she was in China for a summer... watched Boys Over Flowers in 3 or 4 days. Yikes!! DH got into K-pop, and we had some co-workers who partied with Rain. When I told my friend who was teaching in Seoul about that she was so astonished/jealous that they got to meet him. Apparently they didn't know who he was until the next day when they walked by a record store and realized the nice guy who invited them to a super hip club was this mega music star.

I thought I've seen some SK II stuff here in the US? There are so many cosmetic brands and stores over there. You should visit, I'll show you around all the good spots at the fabric market.

Oh, aigoo, "sucked in!" I wish you were into kdrama and kpop--I'd invite you to join me on FB. BTW, I LOVE Rain and am going to share your story with my secret FB kdrama group most of whom are clouds and adore our Rain-beau. LOL!

Pyeongtaek, but doesnt mean a trip can't easily be made. It is my first time here, looking forward to finding exciting fabrics to play with during our 2+ years here.

AIGUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!

You *are* certainly a Koreanophile!

The only K-pop groups I know are 2NE1 and 3AM (or is it PM now? LOL). It's hilarious watching DH belt out the English verses to songs by 2NE1 because he has no idea what the Korean lyrics are.

The guys who partied with Rain were wondering why so many model-esque looking girls were swooning over this guy and how the bouncers at the club just swept aside the red ropes for them. Rain had even given them his number and told him to get in touch with him the next time they were up in Seoul. It definitely paid well to stand out as Caucasians in Asia for them that night! Sounded like Rain was a really down to earth guy.

Do you like Korean food? We had Korean BBQ last night as an homage to our upcoming return to Asia... Mmm, samgyeopsal, kimchi and sesame seed leaves!
