I have a piece of medium weight brocade fabric(peacock feather pattern), what patterns I may use? It's not soft. Thanks in advance.

Maybe a jacket?

I've a slightly pegged skirt in brocade that has been very useful for formal wear. The unbroken expanse of fabric allows the pattern to shine plus the stiffness suits its formality.

Maybe some kind of vest? I would be thinking brocade if it has long floats of fibers on the back side of it, to get the print in it on the good side of the fabric, probably ravels a lot so maybe keep that in mind. Also if it happens to be Polyester and not real silk, it might melt pretty easy if a too hot iron touches it. I know I put a "melt spot" in some Polyester Brocade once, by mistake, when I thought the iron was cool enough to iron it, and the iron really was not at all instead.

An A-line skirt is an option, but be sure to line it to avoid scratchiness.

I see them in everything, pants, skirt, boxy, short sleeve blouse and tuxedo jacket with black satin lapel. Burdastyle 11-2011 # 110 is a good example.

Do you have or have access to back issues of Threads Magazine? Sarah Velblen did a nice article about using brocades in Threads issue June/July 2004, page 35. Lots of good ideas including a jean jacket pattern, fitted jacket, straight/pencil skirt, small bags and more.

I have a brocade wrap skirt that I love. It's a fairly straight skirt fastened with buttons.

Brocade must have been huge in 2004/5, because the Burda WOF from 10/2005 has a lot of patterns for brocades, including jackets, dresses, and skirts.
