We are new to machine embroidery. My wife has been a seamstress for 25 years and I did computer graphics for industry. Creative Drawings 6 has almost the same interface as programs I have used in the past. Before I spend more on the software than we paid for our Pe 770 I am researching it as much as possible. There are many youtube videos on it as well as tutorials. What I can't find is anyone using it or any reviews on it. One dealer told me not to buy it as its not supported very well. I went to their Facebook page and asked about support and they commented within a few hours. Is anyone on the forum using this software.

I use Corel drawings 6, I've been through a few over the years and I'm absolutely not and expert at any of them.

I really like drawings because of its graphics feel and that it's not stitch based. It doesn't seem to have a vocal following and I don't think heavily marketed but I have found it so much easier than anything I've used before.

It is very well supported where I bought it although he isn't anywhere near me geographically any questions I had were answered via Skype with demos. It was those one on one demos and the solid answers to my questions that convinced me to buy it and I'm not sorry at all.

It doesn't have a steep learning curve, there are some project tutorials floating around and I think a yahoo group. If your into graphics and other Corel products I can't see how you can go wrong with it.

I don't have version 6 yet but I've been using Drawings since version 2. If you know how to use Corel Draw you'll get amazing results. The stitch engine is excellent. The only problems I've ever had with stitchouts were my own oversight. It's not mindless to digitize from graphics, but this makes it the easiest and most customizable way to do it.

The Bernina interface is virtually the same (I believe created by DrawStitch as well). Maybe that will help you find more about it.

Corel users, be careful to save your work in a generic format because once support for your version ends, you have to buy the new version in order to access your work. This has been my experience with graphics.

BrendaR...I'm not sure I understand. Can you expand? I have CorelDraw12 and Drawings (I am not sure if it is still supported) and I haven't had any problems accessing my old designs...so far.

Thanks for the replies. From the research I have done it is rhe same as Janome's Artistic Suite and a program from Bernina. If you go to the Artistic Suite website ther are many hours of tutorials there. I almost feel I know how to use it and I have not purchased it yet. From past experience with Corel Draw and Design Cad to digitize for a lazer cutter this should be a breeze. The dealer that did not recommend it did not know they sold it as Artistic Suite.

I have Creative Drawings 5. I bought it to create embroideries from vector drawings. I could never get it to work. I am really disappointed in the software. I use Buzz Tools all the time and what I can't do in Buzz Tools I use Embird. I hope that helps.

I have ordered a few tutorials from sunset stiches they are done for the artistic suite and mostly equivalent to drawings 6. If you can't find a lot of support for drawings they are worth a look.
