I got sucked into Pamelas new pants pattern today with a coupon at my local fabric store. It's pretty expensive because it comes with a dvd. pants 113 Was wondering if anyone else has it or has tried it.
I won't be getting around to making it for a little while, I have a doggie freestyle costume commission due at the end of the week then I'm going to visit some grandkids.
My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, and I've been sewing ever since.

Golly, I wish you hadn't shown me this....

I was blissfully unaware of this pattern. But now I cannot not know about it. Pants are my achilles heal. I sure hope you keep us updated on this.

Looks interesting but I've never been a fan of tissue fitting.

I have not tried this pattern but did watch the 2 hour plus dvd. It was a bit disappointing to see the her models with wrinkles under their fannies on their finished pants. The viewer very briefly sees the backside of the pants which is a bit disappointing since for many of us, that is where we have our issues.
But, I think the concept of placing the darts on the front and back pieces closer to the side seams a great idea for the older figure.
Back side darts help with the high hip fluff.

Hi I purchased the pattern and DVD in January and have completed a pair of pants with contour waist and the elastic, "Magic Pants". I love the pattern and the DVD. An am on my way to develop my tried and true pant pattern.
I have been working away at making lovely pants and found the video full of wonderful advise. My most important take away was not to overfit. Yes there are some wrinkles on the models backside but I thought that was acceptable amount of excess fabric. I decided to embrace her pant fitting process and am please I did so. I started with a two complete fittings before I cut out the fabric. She provides two patterns, one for a fuller person and one for flat back side. I started with the fuller and realized after my first fitting that it was to large for me. My second pant was much better. The key for me was to spend time on the mock up pants. I used plastic painter sheets to trace the pattern and created a complete mock up for me to try on and adjust. (a left and right side) This is a very fast way to try the pattern before spending a lot more time in the sewing. She suggest using the pattern directly as a mock up. I disagree. Its better to trace and work from the traced version. That way you can always go back to the referenced pattern.
As for the video. Loved it. Highly recommend this as a buy for someone who has been struggling with sewing and fitting pants.
