Good day to you all, I was wondering if anyone has an answer to my problem please,

Everytime I add a zipper to the back of my dresses, they are always to high at the neck and looks really bad even though I follow the pattern to a t, has anyone any suggestions as to how I can stop this happening.

Use a shorter zipper? Place the zipper lower on the garment? If the zipper is then too short, you can put a hook and eye at the top. Lower the neckline of the dress in the back. You are allowed to do that.

I'm not trying to be sarcastic. I think there is more going on here and you have to give us more information.

Pictures of one of the problem garments would really help. It's probably related to a fitting problem since you're saying all zippers are too high.

Edit to add pictures with you in the garment.

You have two of the same posts today, and I answered the other one. Oh well, here it is again:

A photo would help, to see if it's a matter of shortening the bodice, or a shoulder or neckline adjustment, or a number of things. You may have more than one adjustment to make for a great fit.

what I've done a couple of times with dresses with a neckline that's big enough to get my head through is close the seam above the zipper about an inch or so - I'm not using invisible zips though

Here's the link. It's brilliant and different than any I've seen.

Thanks for the link, Nancy. I've had my share of inverted 'v's at the top of zippers, too. Next time I'll try not including the zip tape in the facing seam.

I am almost 99% sure that Susan Khalje covers how to alleviate zipper top issues in her Couture Dress class on Craftsy. I remember thinking "that is brilliant!" but of course I can't remember what she did. I'll try to speed through the course again to check.
