I bought some navy raw silk from FabricMart a while back, and was planing on making a lightweight jacket with it along the lines of:

Vogue 8979 (which is actually a tunic but closest to the look I want)

What I'd really like to make to go with it is a lightweight pair of pants in an indigo/blue Japanese (or Japanese-style) print. Having a little difficulty finding the fabric for a reasonable price, though. Anyone have any suggestions?

There are some nice looking indigo fabrics at this site:

Fabric Tales, cheaper than I see elsewhere (but not terribly cheap)

You might call Stonemountain & Daughter in Berkeley and order some swatches. They have a nice selection of indigo fabrics. Superbuzzy also has great Japanese fabrics.

LizJ58, That pattern will look so pretty in navy silk. It will drape really well. Great choice and I can't wait for the review!

LIz, I can't wait to see how that jacket turns out. As for the fabric, I've got a few places

One World Fabrics has some, along with a classic ikat in blue on white and white on blue. Glorious Fabrics and Shibori Dragon also have some pretty ones. You might also give ebay and etsy a try.

I have gotten swatches from Fabric Tales in Japan. They are sweet ladies and the fabric is good quality.
