Hi all! I'm looking to make some quick dry underwear (panties) for travelling. I normally wear cotton undies but they don't dry very well overnight, so I'm considering making some, perhaps from Supplex (nylon-lycra wicking). I don't like non-wicking nylon tricot undies.
Does anyone have any tips on fabric for these? i'd be keen to hear your experiences (within reason!)

What about ITY fabric? Seems like that would be soft and quick drying. Just a thought!

I haven't made any myself, but my absolute favorite RTW thongs are supplex.

I bought some supplex from fabric mart and I made it in to bike shorts to go under skirts... To me it is soft and comfy but definitely think... As in not as breathable as cotton panties

I use lycra, and hang it in front of the airvent in my hotel room.
I lone the crotch with power net. it breaths and dries great.

Powerdry is another choice. If you find supplex make sure it's a knit, it comes in a woven too.

Pamela - do you mean nylon lycra or something else?
Thanks everyone! I have supplex knit i just bought from Dancefabrics NZ and it looks promising. Powernet for the crotch is a great idea.

Just the fabric that you would use for bathingsuits or dance costumes.

Oh my, LOL. Only on PR! Now you've got my curiosity up about that boundary between reasonable and unreasonable "experiences".

Practical suggestion to aid drying- use a hair dryer if you have access to one.

I put rinsed out undies over the heating/cooling unit so they dry. I'm also experimenting with batiste bloomers & tap pants (silk & cotton) because I live in a warm, humid climate and am prone to yeast infections so nylon, supplex, or other man-made fibers are a no-no for me.
