I can't believe it but I tried this top on tonight and loved it. It is a no no neckline for my large bust but somehow it worked well on me, maybe it's the bias cut. So, suffice it to say, I've never even given a pattern that looked like this a second glance. I did a look tonight on the BMV site and some indies and couldn't find anything. I skipped Simplicity because their website was super slow. So I was hoping someone might have a pattern idea.

I did buy a vintage pattern tonight that is sort of similar but it is small for me and will need some drafting. I was hoping to find something current and closer to my size.

If you can't find an exact match, you could use a similar pattern with a bust dart and rotate the dart to the neckline and gather instead of sewing the dart. I did this successfully with a knit top, to copy a vintage top I saw in a picture.

I've seen a BurdaStyle pattern similar to that but searching their site is always difficult. Also, there are a few others that are not on the bias but still have the pleats, like New Look 6022.

I love the pleated neckline look and made my own pattern for one like Speech Girl talked about. There are a few tutorials out there for Googling.

I was finally able (slowly, but able) to use the Simplicity website and I found this.

Simplicity 1658

That is the neckline I want and it might be easier to modify the body.

Thanks...that one is cute but I really wanted one for wovens.

I'm having much better luck now that I can sort of get the Simplicity website to work. I found this too:

Burda 6914

This Marcy Tilton article on bias tells you how to adapt a straight grain pattern to bias. Lots of good information there!
