How about the Hot Patterns Mandaly Jacket.

Is there a particular feature of the Banana Republic jacket you really like? Peplum ... collar ... pockets ... I have not seen many blazer patterns with the waist seam

Hi Rpilver,

I apologize in advance if the suggestion I am going to make is not what you are seeking. I cannot load the page to which you linked.

When a waist seam was mentioned, I though of a Dressage Coat. You can make the bottom as short or long as you wish. There is a back vent and side pleats, but you can redesign the pattern if you want a coat without those features. This pattern can be made either single- or double-breasted.

The pattern is also available in plus-sizes.

It is difficult to find photos which show the details since most of the dressage coats are dark colored.

I hope this suggestion is helpful.

I found this pattern.

Do you think if I make the peplum even with the bodice and add pockets, it will work?

I think the Neue Mode pattern you've found should work.
If you download the instructions, it shows the pattern pieces. The peplum piece does not seem particularly flared, so you should be alright to add a pocket over the seam I think

Oh, I do like the Hot Patterns jacket! I'll just move the pockets up a bit, they seem like they are a little low on the picture. I have never sewn with Hot Patterns before. How true to measurements are the sizes?
Thanks for your help!

Their wovens (especially from the past few years, like the jacket you're looking at) are usually true to size; knits can run a little large. (For knits, I usually size down one from the size chart.) I don't know what size you were or if you'd need this info, but they also draft for a larger cup size in the larger sizes.

Vogue 8931 and Vogue 8865
have peplums which could be used as a basis for your desired design.

That reminds me of this vintage Vogue. There are lots of reviews here on PR.
