I'm planning to make view C with the lace insets in the front like on view A and the lace inset on the back view D, Do you think it will look funny to see bra lines? Thanks in advance

I don't like my bra showing. If I were to do that, I'd do lace over the fabric.

Having said that, I have a vintage shirtdress with woven bits of fabric making a lattice pattern on the yoke at the shoulders and don't mind if my straps peek through there.

I think the difference is that I would be afraid of my entire band showing with S1422.

It depends on the density of the lace as to whether they'll really show or by how much.

You could add a nude lining behind the lace and then nothing would show.

I did that on this top. It worked perfectly and you can't even tell there's a lining there.

this is great to know. I went to Joanns today and checked out the nude lining. It was the wrong color of nude because it really stood out under the lace. I bought some white anti static lining that is semi sheer, only a shadow shows underneath. Wearing a nude color bra, I think will do it.
PattyE, did you make the sleeveless version? I just noticed the fronts and backs on the versions without the lace inserts are different , so the views are not interchangeable. I'm hoping the sleeve will fit without too much trouble,.

Actually both backs are the same except for the lace inset. They both have a yoke that looks to be the same piece.

If I remember correctly you want to make view c with the sleeve and high/low hem but with the lace insets from view d, right?

Here's what I'd do. Use the body of view D. Trace the hem line of view c. Take the pieces for the front and back and match them up as if they were sewn. Meaning the sa are folded under etc. Trace the armhole from view c and use the sleeve. You may find the armhole is the same but usually a sleeveless top has a slightly different armhole shape.

The only other difference I can see from the line drawing is button placement. That you can do any old way you want! That's why we sew.

Hope that makes sense. If not let me know.
