My machine is doing some weirdness when trying to make button holes. They were always to easy before. I pressed the button and magically they were done. Now the machine can't seem to figure out where to stop or the correct length. I have tried clearing the memory to no avail... Will a service fix the problem? Or do I have to buy that 750 now :)

I think you have to buy that 750

Are you using the 3A foot? And hitting the reverse button to indicate end of first leg of buttonhole and indicate when you want it to go back to do the next?

I had the same problem with my Bernina, I rang my dealer and he talked me through how to fix it as I live a couples hours drive from him, it was complicated pressing various buttons then turning the machine off and on again. So you shouldn't have any problem getting it fixed. Hope this helps.

When I had a similar problem, the tech who worked for the dealer where I bought my Bernina said the automatic buttonhole foot was bad and needed to be replaced. Since my machine was still under warranty, it didn't cost me anything. He said it had something to do with the eye on the foot. At the time, I didn't understand how my foot was included in my sewing machine warranty, but I didn't question it because they replaced it at no cost to me. This was about 3 years into my warranty.

Well thanks I will take it in what it is doing is

1. On it completes the first two legs fine then in the third leg where it is supposed to straight stitch to the top of the first leg it just keeps stitching..

Try checking for lint on the glass lens directly above the lens on the foot. It may be that the signal is being interfered with. Barring that, the foot may need to be recalibrated. A quick and simple procedure.
