Hi, I have a singer singer 14T967DC 5 thread serger that the two loopers are hitting together and need it repaired. I guess sticking your thumb in the blades knocks the timing off. (Thumb healed nicely, lesson learned.)

Does anyone know of a good place in or around Austin that can fix this kind of serger that you would recommend?

These following businesses around Austin participate in the Linus Program. So far I have only been in Austin Sew and Vac when I visited Texas at Christmas and they were very nice. My daughter drops off our Linus projects to them, though the others accept projects too. This way, you have a few to call about your serger problem. :)

I've had a Pfaff 7570 sewing machine and a Brother 3034D serger cleaned at Northwest Sewing Center. They did a nice job.

I've been in Austin Sew & Vac in Round Rock and bought some fabric but have not had a machine cleaned or serviced there. They were very nice and seem to do a lot of machine servicing from what I could tell.

I bought a BabyLock serger from Sew Much More but have not had anything serviced there. HTH!

I use Sew Much More for all of my repairs. I have always had got results with the repairwork. It seems to take them about 3 weeks to get it done.

The downside... depending on who helps you, they consistently try to convince you into buying a new machine after they determine your current machine is "old". Some of them do it in a very annoying way... it is rather insulting. All 3 of my machines are Berninas and I bought them because they last so long.
Now that I expect it, I go in prepared for them to do it and let them know that I am quite happy with my machines, thank you very much!

Ruth and Bob at Austin Sew & Vac are phenomenal! I bought all my Pfaff's from them when they had their South Austin store. Ruth is an absolute gem. Jennifer, their daughter is just as much of a pleasure to work with as well.

They sold their South Austin store and it is now called A Quilter's Folly. They are a great group of women too. They have a new repair guy and he is fast and thorough. I highly recommend them for any sewing machine purchase or repairs.
